Memories that will last forever, and laughs that still, a year later, make us that were there, talk about and remember the silly things, like rocking outhouses, hiding my belongings in the fireplace, freezer, and microwaving my chocolate Jeff Gordon cars wrapped in foil, watching them spark, have us laughing still and telling the stories of the memories that will be with us forever! GOOD FRIENDS AND GOOD TIMES, and Great memories!

We found this iguana 3 times in a week on our street, everyone else too afraid to hold her, she was friendly.. took her back to her house AROUND THE BLOCK 3 times, the 3rd time we kept her for the weekend, then took her back to find out if they really wanted her or just couldn't figure out where she was escaping from... found on the top of her cage a big hole...took her on feild trips to my parents and Amanda's work to show her in the parkinglot of Ralphs...it was an experience, she even played the piano with my mom!! She was HUGE as you can see and absolutely beautiful, not everyone thought so.. but Amanda and I did... !! LOL

Challenger Baseball in memory of Cathy Busse
Cathy Busse was a warrior mom for her Autistic son Sam (14). She lived and breathed EVERYTHING for Sam. She was a wonderful, loving, kind and generous woman who touched everyones lives who met her. She was a part of our Challenger Baseball for many years with Sam and rarely missed a game. At the last game she brought Sam to on Sept. 28th,2008 only 2 weeks before being hit by a drunk driver in Seal Beach, Calif. on Lampson near Seal Beach Blvd, she and Sam were having so much fun, I took lots of pictures that day, God knew there was a reason I took so many of just Sam and mom together, as this would be their last game. Cathy was excited to take Sam on a cruise the following weekend and told me to make sure I brought the pictures for her to see the following weekend, I had told her I was going to Hawaii the same weekend as their cruise and would see her in 2 weeks.Cathy never saw these pictures from that last game..Sadly a drunk driver ran into Cathy and Sam Busse while they were safely on the sidewalk riding their bikes together on lampson near Seal Beach Blvd. Cathy was taken off life support after being detected with no brain activity 2 days later. Sam suffered some cuts and bruises and was released. An only child, Sam and mom were best friends and the love they had for each other and the bond was obvious wherever they were. Please keep in prayer Sam and the family. Children with Autism, weather they speak or not, show affection and they DO know their surroundings (the reason they get overwhelmed and have meltdowns out of their control or act out) even when they can't process their feelings into words, Eye contact and affection they DO HAVE even though many say they don't or cant understand..these photos will prove that theory wrong. Like my son Jonathan, who also has Autism...he is loving and affectionate, a handfull and a challenge... but most of all a blessing. Please pray for and Support Autism Awareness.. if you want to help the family contact Busse Family Needs Trust, St. Anne Catholic Church, 340 Seal Beach Blvd, Seal Beach, Ca. 90740. Thank you to everyone who has called and supported our Challenger Baseball family. Cathie Borbon-Minery (Asst. Coach, Challenger Baseball Senior League)
Challenger Baseball Pictures
Misc. Challenger Baseball pictures over the years of coaching and Jonathan's teams. Nothing more rewarding than to see the smile of a special needs child hit the ball and be cheered for and feel as they are on top of the world. No words to describe the looks on thier face when they get to throw the ball into first base or home...I love to coach, but also take LOTS of pictures and video to capture the smiles and the pricless moments...

Autism Walk 11/12/05
On November 12,2005 Saturday our family went to Hidden Vally in Irvine for a special cause that is close to our hearts. Jonathan is living with Autism, and struggles daily with social skills and developmental disabilities that are a challenge for all of us who love him and care for him on a daily basis. Jonathan is 6 1/2 years old and has been diagnosed with not only Autism but also Tourettes syndrome and severe A.D.H.D. He takes 4 medications daily, is in special education and has to have a 1/1 personal aide in school. Fortunately Jonathan is very high functioning, and is doing very well. We are doing everything we can to help his future in any way we can. This walk we raised over $500 and total to date the walk raised $178,000 for research to find the cause and a cure for autism. These are the statistics...10 years ago 1 in 10,000 children had autism, 5 years ago 1 in 500 and TODAY there are 1 in 166 children with this neurological disorder. There has to be a cause and the more we study the history and research the more we are realizing there are cover ups and deceit. Please help us with autism awareness, the more people know, and are aware, the more tolerable and accepted autism will be for us parents in public, and research can continue and not ignored. Thank you SOOOOO much for all of you who donated money to the Cure Autism Now web site for the walk, and for those of you who bought the bracelets and magnets. We had a nice walk, and a beautiful day...on my birthday Nov. 12th and there is nowhere else I would have rather been... It was great!!
