Erected by James Short of Wooler in memory of Catherine his amiable and beloved wife who departed this life the 18th of May 1843 aged 43 years also Mary his daughter who died the 31st of March 1841 aged 3 years and 8 months also Elizabeth Sharp mother of the above Catherine died 6th March 1847 aged 85 years the above James Short died at Humbleton 19th November 1866 aged 67 years
