| A former Neuroscientist, Chuck now manages medical research in Portsmouth. During his wild youth, he rode motorcycles, horses, and tractors, and took pictures of slow moving objects. He no longer rides but he still takes pictures, and his subjects still move faster than he does. To compensate for this, he has a fast camera with a long lens. “I love taking pictures, especially of horses thundering across the fields, bodies stretched like arrows, nostrils flaring, taut muscles and glistening skin. Naturally competitive, their pride shows in their head set, tall necks, and flying manes and tails. You think they don’t know they’re on stage? I try to find locations that exemplify the rider’s and horse’s abilities and beauty, especially if the lighting is good. If I think I have a good shot of a rider or horse, I’ll try to let them know so they can check it out here. Pictures on this site are the best among many shots and are suitable for printing. They look best on a large computer monitor or in a glossy print 8x10 or better. I also like to fill the frame with the subject and may edit for a particular size. If I do that, I’ll mention that size, eg Smarty 8 x 10_2365.jpg, in the name of the picture. If you need a different size, you can email me (cwm2@cox.net) or you can download the whole image and edit it yourself. Downloaded images are good for computer viewing and some make good wallpaper.

| | Horse Friends | | Find your pictures by location and by date where they were taken. Some albums will include your name. The images on the web are smaller (fewer pixels) than the original from which prints will be made, so they will not look as sharp on your monitor as in a print. You can order prints on this web page. I have done so myself and they are really nice quality. If you buy a download version, it will also be much sharper on your computer. Contact me if you want a large series of images. I will put them on a CD for a reasonable price.
