For a picture(s) to be uploaded to the web, the picture(s) must be in an album and marked as published. To add a picture to an album, select the picture and click the Add To button. To publish a picture select the picture and click the Published Public or Published Private menuitem from the Web menu.
Make sure you can connect to the FotoTime website. The easiest way to test this connection is to go to www.fototime.com Another test is to ping www.fototime.com from a command prompt or MS-DOS window and see if you have a stable connection.
Wireless connections can at times timeout when sending large amounts of data which the FotoSync process does. If you are using a wireless internet connection, try connecting directly to the internet and do a FotoSync.
Make sure you are using FotoAlbum 6.0 or greater when doing FotoSync. We have made a lot of improvements to the sync process in FotoAlbum 6.0 and greater.
If you are running any software firewall applications such as ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Utilities, McAffee Firewall, etc., make sure you configure your firewall to allow FotoAlbum to use http. Or, disable your firewall when FotoSyncing. For some firewalls you might have to uninstall the firewall software for FotoSync to work.
If you are running any popup ad inhibiting software applications such as AdSubtract, etc., make sure this software is configured to allow applications to send http transactions. Or, disable these applications when syncing.
If you are running any software applications that changes the behavior of your internet connection such as privacy software, software proxys, internet connection accelerators, etc., make sure these applications are configured to allow other applications to send http transactions. Or, disable these applications when syncing.
If your PC is behind a proxy server or hardware firewall you might not be able to FotoSync. Many proxy servers and firewalls limit the amount of data that can be uploaded to a web server. Some proxy servers allow no data to be uploaded to the server, while others put a limit on the amount of data that can be uploaded. If some files get uploaded but other files hang or do not get uploaded it might be due to a proxy server. To solve proxy or hardware firewall problems, check with your System Administrator for assistance. Many businesses use proxy servers and firewalls.
