| Learn how to make the photos in your FotoShare account searchable |
FotoTime respects the privacy of your photos, and we realize the you may have
personal photos in your FotoShare account that you don't want to be searchable
and share with the general public. For that reason, by default, the photos in your
account are not searchable through the FotoTime member gallery. To make some or all
of your photos searchable, use the following three steps:
- Setup your preferences to participate in the gallery
- Make sure pictures that you want searchable are set as Public
- Add keywords/tags to your photos so the search can find them
Below you will find detailed instructions for each step that you need to perform.
Step 1 - Setup your preferences to participate in the gallery
You first have to edit your web preferences and change an option so that your account will
participate in the gallery. To do this, login to your FotoTime account. Click the
Admin Options link at the left. From the Administrator Menu, scroll
to the bottom of the page, and select the Edit Preferences option. In the
Guest Permissions section, check the box "Allow guests to view my public photos
using searches", then scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the "Save" button.
Step 2 - Make sure pictures that you want searchable are set as Public
The FotoTime searchable gallery can only find photos that you have been set as "Public", and will
not find "Private" photos. You can easily change the "Public/Private" status of your photos
by using either FotoAlbum, or by using the "Edit Web Albums -> Change Security" feature on FotoTime.
Step 3 - Add keywords to your photos so the search can find them
The search engine finds photos by searching through the tags or keywords that you have assigned
to your photos, therefore, to make your photos searchable, you must assign tags to them. You can
do this by either using FotoAlbum, or by using the "Edit Web Albums -> Edit Captions & Tags" features on FotoTime.
