Second shipment - rusty, scored, greasy rotors, not described. The closer pair were cleaned up using spray brake parts cleaner and a rag. The left one of the upper pair, first shipment, shows evidence of a half-hour's work with brake parts cleaning fluid and a Scotch scrubber pad. <br><br>brakes04_20616.jpg

Second shipment

Closer look at one of the second-shipment disks. Is this an improvement? Yes, but not much. Couple of things to note: (1) The gray around the vented circumference of the disk looks like an attempt at de-rusting by use of a rust-converter product. It's chipping off in spots, revealing rusted metal underneath. (2) the center section of this disk has a curved component connecting the disk plane and the lug-hole plane. Sure enough. Here a First-shipment rotor is stacked on top of a Second-shipment rotor. Note size discrepancy and different shape of the "crown". What I "won" was ... <b>"This auction is for a Mustang GT Front Rotors and Calipers Package" * includes front rotors, complete caliper assembly: brake hose, supports, and pads " "This item is an original equipment part that was removed with less than 5 miles on the vehicle. First-shipment rotor on the left, Second-shipment rotor on the right. Mustang GT rotors are supposed to be 12.4 inches in diameter. Looks as if the one on the right might be that size. One on the left is clearly not. So, first shipment was probably an error and an error: not a GT front rotor, and rusty. Second shipment may be a GT rotor, but hardly "five miles old". Now I'm beginning to wonder if the calipers (which seem OK, if not precisely matched for color) are from a GT. So far, these guys are Zero for Two, satisfying their part of the bargain. Calipers look OK; are they GT calipers? Seems so; each of them has a "S197 GT" cast in the "support", also called "anchor plate", as seen in the two crops. <br><br>brakes08_20625.jpg
