Dad joined Duane Gilliland and me for a state highpoint trip to Utah and Colorado in 1994. The highpoint of Utah, Kings Peak, is visible on the right. It's a long hike to Kings Peak, and we did it in a day, but Dad turned around at about mile 11, making it a 22-mile day just before turning 80.

Dad at age 97 in 2012 hiked a few peaks with me on Memorial Day weekend. This is near the summit of Burch Mountain north of Wenatchee. Neither of us had ever been to this summit.
